About Service Exchange
About the City Voices Service Exchange Program
The City Voices Service Exchange is a mutual aid initiative open to residents of New York City—and anyone beyond. Whether you’re in Brooklyn or Boise, you’re welcome to participate. If you’re outside NYC, you won’t be matched for in-person services, but you can still offer and receive support remotely. The form includes many remote-friendly options—check the link below to explore them.
At its core, service exchange means: I help you with something you need, and in return, you—or someone else in the network—helps me with something I need. It’s a community-powered way to share skills, care, and support across distance and difference

“I really like the exchange program because it gave me an opportunity to learn life skills. Some of these skills may be taken for granted, but having the support of other peers who excel at certain skills is very inspiring. I can also relate to wanting to give back so it feels really good to be able to share a skill in return.”
